Let's be frank: Are those online onboarding modules truly critical from day one? Or, are they just a babysitter in disguise? ("Here's your laptop, do the training, and I'll be with you in a few days...").
Aneurin Hughes and I explored accelerated onboarding at our AMPEAK Workshop in Sydney earlier this month during our session: Hit The Ground Running: Creating and Sustaining Contractor Value from Day One.

What's your DBI? (What are the Dull, But Important things a new team member must know immediately, to do their job? Things like job numbers, travel approvals, where to save docs (filing name conventions) sit here
Both contractor and supervisor (or, employee/manager) expect certain things from day one, but there's two sides of the coin: What are you willing to offer in return?

Every day, I hear of a variety of new AI tools being launched. It’s hard to keep track of what’s out there. In my calendar, I dedicate 25 mins/day to learn about what’s out there (like watching the latest Matt Wolfe video), or experimenting with a new tool.
AI Photo-Shoot
Have you used the same image on your LinkedIn profile for the last few years?
I felt like I needed some fresh images but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting dolled up and leaving the house for a photo shoot. That's when I stumbled upon TryItonAI.
For just $17USD, I uploaded 10 photos of myself and within 24 hours, I had 100 images sent back to me (here's a random sample).
While not all of the images were realistic enough for me to use, I was excited to see myself in different outfits and haircuts.
It got me thinking about how online retailers could use this technology to allow their customers to virtually try on clothes before making a purchase.

A jaw-dropping AI tool coming soon
I’m most excited about Adobe Firefly for video: It can do so much but the feature that looks really great, is writing text, so you might submit a story, or a speech, or your next Town Hall script, and it will generate a video for you, based on the submitted text. It adds sound FX, transitions, B-roll as well.
Also, if you’re not sure where to look for AI tools for what you need? Future Tools does a pretty good job of keeping up to date with what’s available.
No more note-taking
For those of you running Microsoft products at work, have you started using Copilot in OneNote to capture all your meeting notes and actions? If so, reply and let me know how it’s going.
